So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

kanter is going to post the real one soon.
"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

I haven't had time to sit down and REALLY try to figure it out but a tab on a similar post (please do searches...this topic is only 5-6 threads down) has something pretty good to work with.

Also, I was a bastard and downloaded the leaked album this weekend because I just couldn't wait for my copy to arrive from Warehouse. After listening to this song several times I'm about 90% positive he's playing a 12-string. I know this hasn't been the case in any of the instances this song has been performed but there's no mistaking that the studio is with a 12.

I could be wrong but I grew up on a 12 so I kinda have an ear for it. The dead give away is to listen for the octave strings.

Here's another one to cook your noodle, he plays a 12 on the title track from Everday on the album but nowhere else. That one's easy because you can't get all those high tones out of a standard 6.

I don't think Spoon was played with a 12 on BTCS but he used a 12 for the song on Storytellers. Some image captures from the show reveal this...

There's also a REALLY REALLY good version of Recently from WAY back in the old school D&T days where Tim plays a 12. It's over the top and how I've played it ever since.

And of course we have Grey Street, JTR, Bartender, WAYG, Big Eyed Fish, Monkey Man, SUAD, and an occasional Raven. The Lillywhites seem to have been the big 12-string bust out for Dave.

Just some useless info...I love the 12...
