Did you miss the second sentence of the original post?
People go on cruises to be babied and pampered and have everything done for them for a week or so. I could never do that. Hell, I got bumped up to first class with a few of my ROTC buddies I was flying with when we were in our uniforms, and, although I did it, it still bothered me.
Wait til you get a job where you have to fly all the time in coach. You'll appreciate any upgrade you get.

By the way, how can you be a hippy and want to join the Army? Hippies are pacifists.
Tell me about flying coach all the time. I was bumped up to First Class and was loving every second of it.

I've gotten that all the time. I am totally against the Iraq war, and against Bush's rich, overinflated ass and that of his lackies, but I am not against my country and I do believe that the united spirit of our nation still endures, comatose though it might be at the present time, but I believe it is worth fighting for. I do feel pride within myself that I have the freedom to disagree with others, and I feel I must fight so that others can do the same.

And whether you care or not, I am actually in the Navy. I'll let you off the hook this once.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

And there are no more hippies anymore. The term is used more inappropriately than the term jam band.

I agree, there can not be a modern day hippie. However, there are still some surviving hippies from the 60's that still believe in the philosophy that drove them to that lifestyle.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.

Amish need to give up too. I mean come on, you drive a fucking van, you shop at Wal-Mart, youre obviously not abiding by Amish rules. Give up.

My gfs best friend lives in hickville and she said that amish people drive down her street on their horse and buggy with boomboxes playing music in the buggy. wtf?

The clash of cultures.

I guess when I say I am a hippy, I really am not because I can't smoke pot anymore because of the frequent urinalysis and I have to becareful not to drink too much so I don't get into trouble. I just like a lot of the liberal ideals they condone as part of their philosophy, not to mention the music they listen to.

My parents were both very definite hippies and they passed alot of the good hippy traits down to me.
