Who has a DM3MD around Beloit?
I know this is a long stretch but I really don't know any other way to go about this. My friend recently crashed my car and I got alot of money from insurance. After paying some college bills off and stuff i have about $5,000 left. I'm not planning on getting a car so i think that I'm going to go with another guitar to help me through the tough times ahead as i cope with not having my car (thats my excuse at blowing a few grand on another guitar at least, lol...). I have been looking into buying a Martin D-28 Marquis because the sound on those things is second to none, but i have also been thinking about buying one of those dave matthews martins mostly because Dave's music has had a big impact on my playing style and i think owning a signature model would be fitting. I have never even seen one of these much less had a chance to play one. I have seen these go through ebay and what not and they go for around $5000 or so. I'm deffinantly not going to drop 5k on a guitar that i have never played even if it is a dave signature model. So if there is anyone that lives around Beloit, Wisconsin or knows that they are going to go through the area and owns one of these guys, I would love you forever if you brought your guitar along and let me strum on it for a few minutes just to see if I like the sound or not. Thanks for the help, also if you own one and have played a Marquis, what where your thoughts between the two, because the marquis is a bass cannon that still maintains a bright low end, and that's what i like on a guitar (I hear the DM3MD's harmonics scream, true?).

ya you caught me. actually if i can convince anyone to come over here to Beloit i'm going to lock them in the basement of my dorm and elicit them for sex... I never asked anyone to go out of their way, if someone happened to be in the area and would be so kind as to let me check out their guitar that would be sweet. If you have a better suggestion as to how I could try one of these out before i buy it by al means grace me with your wisdom, because i don't really know any other way at this point... I don't understand, you bitch at me for asking for a ride from someone and you bug me for asking strangers for a ride. ppl. carpool all the time and i don't see ppl. bitching about that? I ask some ppl. if they have a rare guitar and if so would they let me know how it sounded before i droped alot of money on it? Is this a problem? When i lived in Madsion over the summer i was looking into buying a D-28 marquis and none of the stores where getting any soon. I went on the UMGF.com and said i would like to play one but could not find any in a guitar store and i had 3 ppl. offer to meat up and jam some and let me check out their guitars? What's your bone with me? I guess what I'm saying is I'm having a really bad fucking week and I'm tired of ppl. bitching in my face about a request. If I was near by and owned one of these and someone asked this same question i would probably let them check it out and jam with them, sounds like fun, but then again I'm a preatty generous person. I apologise to everyone for making such an outlandish request...Nitro1515 wrote:Do you have some kinda weird obessesion with meeting people from the internet? I highly doubt anybody is going to go out of there way to stop by and let some random kid play their 2,000 dollar guitar.

lol ya it was really nice to have a car but in reality I never really NEEDED it. The college town I'm in is really small and there is nothing to really drive too (except to DMB concerts in Madson which looks like a bleak possibility at this point...), plus with the gas prices going up I'm going to be saving some money. I'm not going to buy another car untill I need it because i want to save money, but ya lol I'm buying an expensive guitar and that isnt saving money, it's just how i justify it.... Plus i had a really nice, rare car and it was hard losing it.rekeen01 wrote:so you're getting a guitar instead of a car?? Do you not need a car? You said that to get through the tough times of not having a car you're going to spend the money you got for a car on a guitar? Please explain

so how about buy a D-35(the guitar the dm3md is based on) for about 2,000, and then with the rest of the three thousand put it into a high intrest savings account and let it accumulate intrest. you get your guitar plus you will have money saved.mattinbeloit wrote:lol ya it was really nice to have a car but in reality I never really NEEDED it. hosting the oscars is like winning the heisman trophy. no matter how you do in the ballgame, or whatever, they can't take it away from you. and even if you kill your wife and an ex-waiter, they still have a hard time taking it away from you

I had a few ppl. email me that owned one and told me that it sounds just like a d-35 so i tried one out in atlanta and still liked the d-28 marquis and d-18ge better. I wish someone would of told me that it was just like a d-35 sooner, then again i should of just done a check on the specs and figured it out.... thanks everyone.
