First ever recordings (#41, Big Eyed Fish, Say Goodbye)
First ever recordings (#41, Big Eyed Fish, Say Goodbye)
I decided to screw around and record some stuff using the mic on my computer. If not for anything else, hopefully it will make you all feel better about your guitar playing skills and your vocal ability. I'm open to all positive and negative opinions. As you can tell, I have some trouble with the high notes. And by the way, I totally train wrecked on Say Goodbye during the 3rd verse but I didn't feel like recording again tonight so I just kept going...

You might want to make those links http instead of hxxp
#41 is so hard to see Dave style and I see you cut a few corners instead of hitting those terribly high screaming notes. Good choice. :p I thought this was pretty good, guitar might be a bit too rough. I prefer to play it a lot smoother and calmer, but that's a personal preference.
Big Eyed Fish was interesting. I've never heard a cover of this tune, or a guitar solo version of this song. Pretty cool, but the singing seemed a little uneasy here, maybe loosen up a bit?
Say Goodbye guitar sounded really good. And yes, the train wreck...

dude i think its awesome. i can play guitar to all those songs, but my voice is horrible i can't sing for shit. my voice is so low it sounds stupid. ur lucky you can sing like that. i think its awesome. but i agree with the other guy....some parts you go really fast, but other than that very very good.
Dude, you sound like I did a few months ago...
Try tuning your guitar down half a step and playin' and singin'... It would help you practice your control rather than your range, you'd be surprised.
As for the high notes, just keep singin' 'em,... loud. One thing I do is kind of workout my voice by singin' and yelling as loud as I can (by myself, of course) so that my voice gets kind of raspy (don't hurt yourself). I find that it kind of helps my vocal strength, which also helps me hit the highnotes. Sing 'em loud and your voice will learn how to hit 'em.
And definitely slow it down, you sound like you could turn into a good singer.
