I get to Play a DM3MD!

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Awesome.

Just one thing... I thought the DM3MD had Dave's sig on the 12th or 14th fret...

well, the good news is you've only heard his worsdt song.

depending on how goo you are 'Why Georgia' is an awesmome song. some parts are for me very hard to play, but the main riff and chorus are pretty playable.

All fun songs that aren't too tough
Love Soon
No Such Thing
Love Song For No One
My Stupid Mouth
3x5
Message in a Bottle (live cover)

I see the sig in that last pic, but can't see it on the ones where he is playing it. I must be going blind.

Guys I was loking at a copy of Guitar Player magazine from Feb. 2004 the other day in FSU's musoc library and it has a great pic of Mayer playing a DM3MD. If I had a copy of it, I would scan it and post it but I don't so sorry.......

I might be hijacking this thread, but it looked like it was on its way out anyway :?
The DM3MD arrived to my house yesterday. i had the shiping tracked online, and about halfway through the day i saw that it had been delivered. Man, all I wanted to do was blow off work and go home to play it. Impossible though.
The guitar is great. I once heard it described as a cannon, and that seems to be a great descrption. Its SUPER light, but the sound is deep and clean. It really is ideal for percussive playing. It needs new strings(any suggestions?) so I don't hink I'm getting the FULL effect, but I'm not complaining.
If there is anyone who lives in the Lehigh Valley PA area that wants to get toghether to play it, let me know. Also, I'll be at PSU for the 12/6 show, and can bring up then if there's interest.
Cheers!

Photos...post photos :)
I don't want to sound rude, but you spent $4200 on a guitar and you need suggestions on strings to buy?
You're only as strong as the tables you dance on.

Not rude. Good Point.

Although, I must say, I'm capable of making the decision on my own, I thought there might be something I hadn't thought of. I'll probably just go with the Medium Daddario's.
