They are all great friends, and love playing together. You can see that dave loves it when during a jam boyd rips out a solo,a nd dave starts walking over and jamming with him. I see no sign of him leaving, actualy, ever. Dave was even on his solo album.
Boyd rocks!
dude, download some concerts and you'll see what we're talking about....
He's a great guy and they're all friends and he aint going anywhere but seriously...........he is out of tune alot of the time....

they're not great friends, they've said in numerous interviews that they get along just well enough to make it work but they do not hang out on the road or outside of music and such...

I think Boyd's a great person, really nice guy, but he just is a terrible violinist...

I don't know of anyone who has ever said they "lick" a scab. Most people pick them instead.
Boyd and Metallica should both quit.
Coffee should be dark as hell, strong as death, and sweet as love.

I think i'm glad I know nothing about the violin, it would take some of the fun out of it if i knew how bad he was i guess.

i lliked boyd until he released that horrible horrible solo album. so i say, solo, no, w/ dmb, yea. but he does need to care a little more, cause when he does, you can tell, he's in tune, his stuff is amazing. i don't think he's lacking tallent or anything, i just think sometimes he just doesn't care.

Boyd is an awesome guy in person. I got to meet him for a little bit the day before the OKC show. He had just gotten done from playing tennis, bad BO

. But he was a really nice guy. At the concert they played Pig and I couldnt even tell it was Pig from the horrible intro. He can tend to be out of tune a lot, but if hes on it sounds good.

if the band members do read the shit we post on here, then be happy that we are the reason that the band will break up
don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself
this love's too good to last and i'm too old to dream
don't grow up too fast don't embrace the past
this life's too good to last and i'm too young to care
don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself
this life could be the last and we're too young to see

seriosly boyd is one of the things that separate dmb from other bands, why is everyone hating on him. i've never heard him out of tune but aparently he is a lot?

call the wahmbulance.
would you rather him sit perfectly still and hit every note perfectly? nobody ever bitches when stefan botches a note on fretless. boyd has gotten A LOT better since 03. 04 he has been in tune pretty much all of the time. not to mention violin is one of the harder instruments to play correctly 'in tune' while jumping around in a 6 piece band setting

Keep in mind that this thread is from '03, and I agree. He really did buckle down the '04 tour.
