Braclet- My new work in progress

Unread post by mattinbeloit » Wed Oct 05, 2005 8:46 pm

Ok this is my new work in progress and it is only half way done. It's called Braclet. I wrote it last week when the girl I have loved all through college pretty much told me she didn't love me and just wanted to be friends (yaya i know cry me a fucking river....). I was in my room just strumming around on a mellody i had and looked down at the braclet around my wrist that she had made for me a year back and it sort of just became the symbol everything and the song took off. Like i said it's only half way done, ill write more when i'm in a happy mood because i want it to have a happy ending. I'm taking a recording class here and my teacher let me borrow one of his nice Neumann mics so i have been recording things all day and decided to give this a try. (By the way this is in an open tuning and i'm plam mutting the whole thing.). So tell me what you guys think, this is just a strait up recording i have not edited it at all, sounds preatty good quality wise except the fact that this file is mp3....

Intro and, consequently, the rest of the song, sounds very no such thingish, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think you could use some variety in the your strumming patterns and even a little more in your progression. Voice is darn good though. Keep strummin!

Ya I'm looking for a way to spice up the song, it is too boaring (which is not necessarily a bad thing) so I'm still working on it. I'm glad you liked my voice, ive been working on that more than anything....

I borrowed a Neumann TLM-103 from my recording teacher and hooked that up to a Beringer mixer and fed the mixer to my sound card, i did a track for the guitar and track for vocals. I was basicaly just playing with the mic and decided to record what i had of the song, i have not edited it at all, its a real sweet mic and is quiet as hell, i was impressed.
