but they dont always play with that energy. all you have to do is compare LS to CP and you can see clearly that they were much more excited and pumped up about CP and that makes it a better show. would you rather see the pro bowl (with all-stars all the way through matching up with the songs) or the super bowl (energy, effort, etc. despite not being all stars)?Nitro1515 wrote:Alright whatever, both are mediocre anyway you slice it. I'm just so fucking sick of people talking about energy. They always play with energy so to me it ultimately comes down to setlist and I like more songs from LS than CP so thats why it gets my vote.

well put. and setlist isnt everythign. like I said, CP WWYS is what I consider one of their best performances of that song. Sometimes they just fall short on some songs.i am sam2 wrote:but they dont always play with that energy. all you have to do is compare LS to CP and you can see clearly that they were much more excited and pumped up about CP and that makes it a better show. would you rather see the pro bowl (with all-stars all the way through matching up with the songs) or the super bowl (energy, effort, etc. despite not being all stars)?Nitro1515 wrote:Alright whatever, both are mediocre anyway you slice it. For example, I think Hello Again is the most hit or miss song ever. sometimes it blows me away, sometimes it leavess me thinking, WTF?

Comparing the pro bowl to a low energy DMB setlist makes no sense since there are no half-assed versions or bad versions of good songs out there. I wouldnt care if they played the most mediocre Bartender ever I would still take it everytime over a supped up crazy energy version of When The World Ends.i am sam2 wrote:but they dont always play with that energy. all you have to do is compare LS to CP and you can see clearly that they were much more excited and pumped up about CP and that makes it a better show. would you rather see the pro bowl (with all-stars all the way through matching up with the songs) or the super bowl (energy, effort, etc. despite not being all stars)?Nitro1515 wrote:Alright whatever, both are mediocre anyway you slice it. Im not getting the energy thing either. I never saw DMB play without energy, perhaps "they were just on" that night for that particular song > WWYS.
It's seems as if they pulled 3 or 4 radio hits from each album to form the setlist for CP. It's understandable that they need to please everybody at the show, not just die hard fans.
Have fun fighting over which one is "better" though!! Sounds like fun, but I have to go ponder who is better at making music, John Mayer or Dave Matthews.
