Welcome to the boards. It might be wise to try speaking in English when you post. Try some easy songs by Oasis, O.A.R., etc...

i think he was talkin about things like that. take the extra .05 seconds it takes to put both e's in been. the second bolded item you just started one sentence randomly in the middle of the other. the next bolded thing, you failed to put any punctuation to let us know you were changing sentences. same with the next one. and its a "guitar" not a "git" in fact i didnt even know what you meant by "git" at first; i thought you meant "get."

in other words, if you want us to help you, you have to at least make yourself understandable in writing so that we can know what youre asking. going back and reading after all that analyzing, i still dont know what youre asking

Its just a lot easier to help people when they can form a sentence and use some sort of grammar.

It's easiest to get someone to teach you to play. Try finding someone who can give you good lessons.

ill be honest a few years ago i had no idea how to play the guitar. i was (and am) a bass player so i knew notes on the neck, etc. but didnt know anything about chords. so i bought a guitar, looked up the basic chords online and just practiced changing from chord to chord. then i started learning some dave songs...and now i know a lot of dave songs....as far as technique i havent learned any...and that is probably why im terrible at riff style playing...but i can strum the dickens out of it !!!

guitar for dummies. i swear. it's how i taught myself. after you get basic chords down and you're able to switch between them, start learning songs that have those basic chords in them. when you get better at that, start learning songs w/ other harder chords. when you get better at that, start learning songs w/ screwed up chords. ie

guitar for dummies
once you get good move on to oasis or the like, like speenis said
once you get good move on to easier dave songs like grey street or 41
once you get good move on to harder songs like tripping billies or clapton etc.

but the main point here is that guitar for dummies is an awesome book. it teaches basic chords, scales including pentatonic, majors, and blues, and it teaches basically how to solo. great book.

Here's a suggestion that will really help, not on the guitar, but at least on the boards. Like i-am-sam2 suggested, type out full words and sentences. Use proper spelling and grammar. Don't use IM shorthand. It's confusing, annoying and juvenile, not to mention it saves little to no time and effort.

For example:
k=OK. 1 extra keystroke. Better yet, omit it altogether. 0 keystrokes.
thanx=thanks. 1 extra keystrokes.
u=you. 2 extra kystrokes.
plz=please. 3 extra keystrokes.

Those 6 or 7 extra keystrokes take a total of maybe 2 extra seconds and keep you from looking like a total tool. I'm sorry if I sound like a dick, because it's a genuine suggestion, but you are far more likely to get constructive help if you use grown up English. Just give it a try, please.

And of course the ever popular advice for getting better at the guitar: Practice, practice, practice. Nothing works better than just doing it.
