-------->ANOTHER QUESTION FROM THIS UNDECISIVE BASTARD???
Yo all. I'm still thinking about that Taylor. Should I get a factory new Taylor 810e(no cutaway with expression system) with an Englemann Spruce top and 3-piece rosewood back or a factory new Martin D-35/HD-35? While I'm on the subject of Martins, what kind of electronics come in the D-35/HD-35 from the factory?....Anyways...I think I'm still leaning towards the Taylor, which is around $2000 with the options mentioned above, instead of the above mentioned Martins. Taylors just feel so much more solid in your hands when you hold them. I really don't have anything against Martins, I was just trying to piss of shane....hehe....What do you guys think?

With the Martins, I'm pretty sure you have to specify you want electronics (at not extra cost) because "E" isn't included in the name of the guitar like some of their other models

Hmm. If you're looking at a Taylor Dread vs. a Martin dread....... well, Martin wins hands-down in my book (obviously not in others...ahem... SHANE). I don't know what you're talking about Taylors being solid and Martins not - I've always felt it's the other way around. Whenever I play a Taylor I'm afraid to play it hard because it might break and whenever I play a Martin... well, you can beat the shit out of them and they sound better for it. If you can afford it, look long and hard at the HD-35. No electronics come standard, you have to request Fishman electronics, or install another brand (or fishman) after sale.sticksANDstrings wrote:Yo all. I'm still thinking about that Taylor. D-28. You know John and Paul took two D-28s to India where they wrote most of the White Album songs. They also used them on most, if not all, of the acoustic tracks. Paul McCartney still plays a D-28, you can see on his Back In the US dvd, that he does. That must mean something about Martin D-28s.
But, for your suggestion. If you want a bassier sound, and more rythmic, I would go for the D-35. If you want more lighter sounds, HD-35. Still, check out the D-28.

Yes, I am in a box

Trippin, have you played one of the new Taylor dreds? I haven't, but have you? Because you write them off fairly easily.

Not revoiced. Only the old ones. So I should clarify that my opinion is towards the pre-2003 Taylors, and i have no opinion regarding 2003 taylors (although, knowing me, i will still like the martins more)ticohans wrote:Trippin, have you played one of the new Taylor dreds?
