Songs that changed the way you look at playing guitar

Unread post by chosta » Thu Sep 29, 2005 9:42 am

to get a better feel for my style, the guy i get lessons from asked me to throw some songs that really made me look at playing guitar different. i just thought it'd be cool to see what everyone else says

SRV - little wing
BLS - spoke in the wheel
i also have down a couple incubus songs, because when i started to get into them i was amazed at how versatile their music is. the cd is in my dorm, but ill put up what else i have later

checkii wrote:It's cool to hate on Chosta, I get it. But the prejudice that people take into his posts makes people so stupid it's hilarious to read. I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

old love - clapton

before that i did a lot of mutes and dave-style playing. after clapton i found the beauty in 7th chords and blues scales.

SRV - little wing, no doubt

Floyd - Wish you were here...i didnt realize how beautiful you can make simple chords sound untill i heard this song

All Hendrix - no comment needed

Dave and Tim at Luther - made me want to be better at acoustic guitar, and it worked.

Sadly, and this is 100% true, he was my ex-roommate's guitar idol. Let's just allow that to soak in a bit.

Anyone who has paid attention to my posts will know of the other stupid ass things he did. What a year.
