Charlotte Show 9-16!!!!!!!!!!

Unread post by olkskoolpik » Thu Sep 18, 2003 1:16 am

Sorry this is a few days late, but I still wanted to post about this show. It was unbelievable, I have been to seven DMB shows, starting in 1998 and I have never seen them play with this much passion and energy. I cant say enough about this show it really blew me away, i am still speechless, and the show was 3 days ago. Dave danced and sang his heart out, Stephan bobbed, and Butch tore up the keys(eyes closed of course!!!!)During Anyone Seen The Bridge Dave danced for at leats 4 mins. straight, the crowd loved it, I can finally remember why the DMB is the #1 touring band in the world, they came out and played like thy had something to prove, and even though lawn seats were going for about $80 before the show, nobody left disappointed. SInce I was working I was in the venue before the gates opened so I got to hear their soundcheck even though the security were being douches. Oh and did I mention the best setlist on the tour so far:

Sound Check:
Too Much
Gravedigger

Ants
Satellite(really slow tempo)
Warehouse
BOWA
I Did It
OSW
SMTS
Anyone Seen The Bridge--->
WWYS(best version I have ever heard 2 mins. of Dave scat)
Cre Freedom(awesome with the whole band)
Recently
Crash
Too Much
Watchtower

Encore:
Typical Situation
Tripping Billies

Absoult best show ever, maybe even better than the Dave and Tim I saw in Davidson and I never thought I would say that.

Eh...they played I Did It and Crash...I think that brings it down a couple of notches. Sounds other wise like a great show.

screw you guys...i love crash dammit :D

but i do hate i did it. i know ill get killed for this too, but that wasn't really my fav of setlists. id much rather some stuff from busted stuff, what you are, two step, seek up. stuff like that. uttad isn't may fav of dave albums. and i hate osw w/ the whole band. i only like it acoustically. so im KINDA glad i didn't go now. def next year though.

I could have done without Satellite and Too Much. I really don't like too much, but for them to play BOWA, Ants, Warehouse, WWYS, Watchtower, and RECENTLY is awesome. I wanted to see Recently so bad this tour.

I could've done with out I did it, but it gave me time to go buy a shirt, and the band was into every song, Dave was doin his chicken dance and sang every song at the top of his lungs, Stefan was doin his dorky bass player dance, Boyd was rockin his dreads, and the highlight of the night was definitely Two Step I mean they JAMMED! it was awesome. The best I've every heard. and was at the Davidson Show too, and it was not that good as far as D+T goes, but it was made up for the other night

yeah man youre totally right. I dont know what I was thinking, I was trying to write down the songs during the concert, and my buddy spilled his beer all over me just before they went into two step, so i forgot to write it down, That jam was unbelievable, dave did an awesome chicken dance, that honestly was my favorite DMB show ever.

Crash is only bad because there's usually some crazy sorority girl standing there screaming her head off, like she's trying to give you an anurism

hey guys, i know this is my first post, and the thread is going outta date, but i was at the show too. in fact it was my first dave show, and they certainly didn't dissapoint. me and my friends pulled up with no tickets, and came to find out that the lawn was sold out, so i ended up shelling out $63 for a seat under the roof, and it was worth every penny.

anyways, i thought warehouse was the highlight of the night. the whole band really got into it and dave was dancing all the while. two step was great too, they jammed for what must have been 20 minutes, it's a wonder that carter doesn't give out up there. i was kinda disappointed that they played crash, it seems like the kinda song they play to satisfy that not-so-big fans. so of course the place went wild, lol.
