A year back Rolling Stone did the Top 500 songs ever. While it covers more decades, it is so much more accurate, though not flawless by any means. And no DMB. Check it here:

I think it's really because of how Good Vibrations was made and how complicated of a song it is. It's kind of like how Citizen Kane is on every top movie list. The actual movie blows, but the way it was filmed, how it influenced people, and how it changed the way movies were made is what gives it it's importance.Davy28 wrote:The only thing I'd 86 from that list is the beach boys.
