I made a desert island discs thing in my subprofile, this is what's on it...

Sting: Ten Summoners Tales
Favorite song: Seven Days

This album just makes me smile. Musically, it's just gorgeous all the way through. It encompasses this whole fun side of music that is rarely heard. Seven Days is by far one of my all time favorite songs. Great album!!!

Dave Matthews Band: Before These Crowded Streets
Favorite Song: Pig

I'm so sick of DMB and Dave Matthew's that I can hardly stand to think about them, but it doesn't change the fact that this album really is one of the most moving pieces of work that I've ever heard. The last six songs make up as strong of a run as any. Pig is an absolute masterpiece.

Nickel Creek: This Side
Favorite Song: Speak

This album become an instant favorite the day I bought it. I remember calling my dad and saying to him, "wow, this is really different. I've never really heard anything like this before." I couldn't say enough about how amazing this record is. If these guys don't really change the face of music, I don't know who will.

John Mayer: Room For Squares
Favorite Song: 3X5 or Why Georgia

Sure, it's a little poppy. Sure, we've all heard Your Body is a Wonderland about three-thousand too many times, but this album is pretty amazing when it really comes down to it. It means a lot to me as it really influenced me to shift gears as to how I thought about music and the methods behind making it. Not to mention that every song is very easy to relate to. I'll never knock this record.

Eric Clapton: One More Car, One More Driver
Favorite Song: Have You Ever Loved a Woman

This two-disc live recording of Eric from his 2001 tour may not be his best performance, but there's something about it...it's certainly always a great performance whenever Eric is playing, and just the collection of songs and the whole feel of the album is great. Good assortment of old and new songs, acoustic and electric...and wow...somewhere, over the rainbow...what a swan song...

Bela Fleck: Tales From the Acoustic Planet
Favorite Song: Up and Running

This is probably the best album musically that I've heard. I don't even know what else to say. 90% of the people who would listen to it most likely wouldn't appreciate it nor like it, and that's ok. It's very different, but it's also very good, and I happen to love it. It may be my favorite album.

Martin Sexton - The American
Favorite Song: Where It Begins or Way I Am

I love this album...I really do! Where it begins I think is perfect for driving around with your windows down on a perfect summer night. Way I Am is just genuine songwriting...the whole album is just top notch.

Martin Sexton: Black Sheep
Favorite Song: Glorybound

Yep, one Marty CD is not enough. Not when he has so many great songs on both records! Heck, I'm tempted to put Live Wide Open down too! Another great record! This album is just raw and amazing. Love keep us together...

Miles Davis: Kind of Blue
Favorite Song: Flamenco Sketches (alternate take)

There are some nights where I just wouldn't be able to make it through that easy without this disc. It's timeless...it may not be my favorite record, but it very well may be the greatest record of all time.

Hmm ... have you guys heard of any Saves the Day?? Their acoustic cd is AWESOME, and all of those songs sound amazing.

I like a lot of heavy stuff ... i loove Tool, NIN, System of a Down and stuff like that. Staind is good too. Hendrix is fucking classic.

hey elliot. i pulled security for nickel creek at their concert here in boone. they kicked ass. kinda surprised someone mentioned them, i didn't know how popular they are now. but anyway, i got to meet them after the concert...they are total dicks. i mean they would barely even talk to me. so either they just hate their fans, or they hate the military (i was in uniform for the security gig)

anyway, i don't know. Flecktones, Coltrane, Radiohead, Buckley, Soulive, David Gray, Martin Sexton, Wooten, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Nick Drake, Coldplay, and a little bit of Harper and Beck (basically just the Sea Change album). bit of Norah Jones and Ben folds...that's all i can think of. other miscellaneous thrown in there and i'm probably forgetting some other major people.
damn dude, i meant 5. ok lets rephrase. if you had to listen to 3 cd's for the rest of your life, what would they be.

AND what's the heaviest music you listen to....this is so i konw what kind of musical taste you have.

Hmmm....my three nonDMB albums would be:

Ben Harper - Live From Mars
Red Hot Chili Peppers - BloodSugarSexMagik
The Vines - Highly Evolved

There are sooo many more and I'm sure if you asked me the same question on another day I'd give you a different list.....but oh well...

My favorite heavy band would be THE DEFTONES. I don't think I could pick just one of their CD's. Rage is cool too.........
"Daschunds...the only dog that's shaped like it's own poop."
