Martin 000XCEBlack

Unread post by Six Strings ce » Sun Sep 14, 2003 8:30 am

Went to my Guitar Center and went straight to the Taylors. (As I usually do.) Checked them out. Loved a 514ce. Too pricey tho. Don't really look at anything else than Taylor usually but I decided to take a look at Martin. Instantly fell in love wit the 000XCEBlack. IT's black and comes with Fishman electronics. What more could you ask for? I plugged it in and it sounds amazing. Playing it cold was awesome too. I am not a fan of Martin strings. I am thinking about buying one and wanted some imput on what you guys think of this guitar. Thanks.

Oh P.S. - I'm new Hello.

yeah as josh said, if u like it, get it. IMO I don't like it. Not real sure why. I used to love black guitars so i got one, but now i think its kinda stupid to paint a guitar black. I now prefer seeing a guitars true look, its grain and all that good stuff. But thats just me. Get whatever u want. Once more, if you like it, get it.

assuming you're referring to the 000XEBlack, and not the 000XCEBlack (which i don't think exists), it's not painted black. it's a graphite guitar. not wood. which can be good or bad. good if you do loads of gigs where you can't afford to worry about travelling with your guitar on planes, bright sunlight, high temps, or low temps messing with your wood and screwing your intonation and tuning up. bad if it sounds like crap, and a lot of graphite guitars do. if you're looking at a graphite guitar, i've heard a LOT of good things about a company called caguitars. supposedly they're the way to go if you want a graphite. check them out at caguitars.com

Yes indeed it does exist. It's not XCE its CXE. guitartrader.com - It may be graphite but this thing sound incredible plugged in and when you are putting a cd togeather that's what you need. I still have to do some research on it tho.

Thanks. It feels good to own a Martin. I'm already a member of the Taylor club also.
