ok come on...you're the best debater here right? you can't end w/ that. you have to come back w/ something. tell me i don't know waht im talking about or that i should go back to class, then show me why. you can't end w/ keep telling yourself that, that's horrible.

and for one, i could never act the same around my friends as i do reporters. its kinda like changing the way you talk, ie not using slang, when you go to a job interview.

I don't know that many other ways to describe Dave and the situations you're describing as faking!!! acting is one I already used, and here's a good one...trying to sell a product! taking on an identity that is an easy sell...acting a certain way so as to be more appealing and sell...keeping up an image that sells??? eh? The deep thinking, deep talking insigtful singer/songwriter...buy my records! Everybody: buy my records!

try writting songs, write a few. write some more. someone says hey, i like your songs, wanna record deal...you say yes. now, buy my songs buy my songs. i wrote them all by myself, and now ill play them for you. as i wrote them.

or better yet. i love the electric guitar, i basically learned how to play on the thing. its awesome. now im going to a musical college and im badass, top ten in my class. but i can't find a band :cry:

well, i guess i can take an acoustic and play it, that way i don't need a band. so ill just get rid of everything that i love, so that i can sell my first record. ok now that im rich, ill change back to an electric, i mean afterall i can afford studio mucisians now. im rich.

way to try to inadvertently go over my head w/ a mayer story...a somewhat twisted mayer story...and I think there's a difference between something that contributes to the music and something designed simply to sell...you can't play electric solo...it doesn't work...you can play acoustic, it supports itself, that's why mayer played acoustic mostly in the early days...

I edited my original comeback, and mayer didn't change, he did what he could with what he had...you can't play electric and acoustic the same way and you can't play electric solo and be successful, therefore, how can you say that he was acting? it was a necessary thing...dave doesn't have to talk deep...unless he's insecure...it's not like mayer was insecure about playing electric guitar...he wasn't afraid to show "the real mayer..."
