Great pics, thanks for sharing. I can only imagine the vibe in the audience at such a stellar venue. And one can only imagine how psyched the BAND gets at playing in such a unique and intimate setting.

Red Rocks is unreal, I hadn't ever seen it aside from having prom in one of their ball rooms. It's so intimate and the view is beautiful. You forget you're outside, then look up and holy shit, it's an undescribable feeling.

When I saw this blow in, I had flashbacks of 2003 when that nasty t-storm blew in. Scary shit. The 8 people tailgating next to me were under a tent. Their tent was struck by lightning. I just became an EMT that January, I resuscitated the kid who was the worst off, while my friends ran for help. Luckily, everyone survived.
Never met the kid. Anybody around here know him?
EDIT: Oops, I guess you can't direct link to yahoo images.

There was a line of tornado-spawning storms stretching all the way down Hwy. 12 that day, and that just happens to be the road that leads directly from where I was to Alpine. I waited the storm out at home and left as soon as it was ok to drive. Apparently about 10,000 other people did the exact same thing because I sat in gridlock for almost 3 hours to get into the venue.

Kind of a long story to whole thing, but basically my friends Dad was in a band with this guy who lives in Seattle. He is rich as hell and basically rented out all of Red Rocks for 6 hours as a birthday present to another member that was in the band. So basically they just called up a bunch of people to play. My friend was one of the few who got to play with his Dad on a few songs (most notable Soulshine, very nice). So I was just hanging around on stage at the end of the night and my friends Dad asked me to play a song, since I came out just to watch and he knows I play as well. So I took his guitar and with the who sound system going, I busted out a nice butterfly for all 15 people hanging around.
