DOOF
I always wondered why there is no tab for dreams of our fathers on this site. Not that its all that great of a song, but I'd be cool to learn to play.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Well, they have NEVER played it live. I have always wondered why, since it is a good song. One of the most underated songs of dmb. It's got a GREAT beat to it, that just keeps going. Anyways, here's my tab.

he can't sing and play it at the same time. ahhh... the beauties of multi-track recording....Ranting Thespian wrote:Well, they have NEVER played it live. Not really, you just have to get into the really fast davespeak, a la Ants Marching. (

there is a lot of inflections in that song and it is really really fast compared to other songs. dave is a singer not a rapper. he messes up lyrics all the time and replaces lyrics and stuff but that song is so fast i don't think he can catch up when he screws up so they don't bother with it.

I'm 99.9 % sure that he plays it on a standard 6-string electric, not a baritone.Ranting Thespian wrote:It is on a baritone. I don't own a baritone, though, so I tab it into standard tuning, just like what jkanter does on dmtabs. I actualy strum it as chords and not pick it when I play it solo, to give it a fuller sound.

Well, the tab book for everday says its is played in standard tuning, but the guitar sounds to me more like the one in so right (a baritone) than the one in fool to think (a standard) for comparison.

Keep in mind the guitar in fool to think is being doubled by a keyboard during the verses. Also, I don't hear any tones going below the low E string in the song, which happens in every other song on the entire album that he plays baritone on.Davy28 wrote:Well, the tab book for everday says its is played in standard tuning, but the guitar sounds to me more like the one in so right (a baritone) than the one in fool to think (a standard) for comparison.

True, but I still think its on a baritone. I guess the only way to be sure is to ask Dave.
