No we can't help. Get an acoustic version, read the tab & you should be fine. That's how 99% of us learned it. Sorry man but that's the truth.andreasolsson wrote:Can anyone help me with this song? It's actually a fairly easy song to play. The intro is similiar to Typical, the verse is fairly easy, & the chorus is standard chords (I believe).

i had a lot of problems with the intro alone to this song. at first, it was hard for me to get my pinky down on the 12 on the D string. i'd always hit right on the fret. my advice to you, as far as getting the intro down is to just keep trying to squeeze your pinky in there. also, as far as the picking goes, try alternate picking if you haven't already. takes a bit of practice, but works wonders.
cheers and good luck!

That's something we can't teach him though. Stretching of the fingers only comes with personal practice.serialwired wrote:hey dudeandreasolsson wrote:Can anyone help me with this song? I cant play it. I cant really find the beat, or so. is there a help video to that song? I havent found one.

In all honestly, how are we going to help him find the beat? That's why I said we can't help him.serialwired wrote:you've got a point there, buddy. i guess like he said, dude, just practice it.jellyfish wrote:That's something we can't teach him though. great! an audio clip of the intro would be great.... i would like the intro he plays in the live at luther college version.. i dont really know if its the one thats on this site, but i dont think so.
it would be nice if you could do the verse at the same time.. and maybe the chorus also.. not play the whole song just the different parts.
is it okey? it would be great!

there are techniques though. I always advize people not to try to play the song for a while. Juast listen to it many many many times with good headphones. This will help you be able to decifer the guitar from other instruments which is hard with speakers. then try and play it after you have the whole song in your head.jellyfish wrote:In all honestly, how are we going to help him find the beat? someone else had a really cool thing to do. He said somethign along the lines of putting a t-shirt over the strings at a certain spot. i think it was to keep down the resonance so you could deistinctively make out the rythym you are playing.
didnt try it, but it sounded like it worked for a lot of people.

Good advice, I often try to play a song without the rythym in my head & it is almost impossble. I try to learn the rythym in my head over & over so that I can refernce it while playing. BUt, I still think we can't help him capture the rythym over the internet, rather he needs to listen to your advice.checkii wrote:there are techniques though.
