posting audio clip online

Unread post by davekllawre210 » Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:42 am

I've just recently been able to sing while playing the guitar. However, I am not a very good singer. I don't think my voice is that good. I was wondering how I could post a recording of it on here and hopefully get some criticism or advice. thanks

make the song, turn it into an mp3, and go to yousendit.com send the song to yourself (through e-mail) and then post the link you get here. we'll be able to download the file. that's the easiest way to do it for free. you can also create a myspace music account for free and host your songs. but i would go w/ the first for now until you start actually writing your own songs and stuff

dmbtabs.com if no one's said it yet...welcome to it

i'm guessing it came out as a wav. if it's really short you can go ahead and use that, but if it's over a min long i'd convert it. there are a billion free programs online that convert. go to google and type convert wav to mp3 or something like that. i don't know of any right off the top of my head

its only 1 min so i'll just leave it as a wav. bear with me its really bad quality and i messed up the guitar part on the begining of the verse. but i'm more looking for cretique on the singing and what advice to get better at it. ok i'll get the link in a second.....its taking a while on yousendit.com

p.s. appologies if it hurts ur ears. i know my voice needs a lot of work. i just don't know where to start.

welcome-
Some singing tips: you need to sing "out" a little more. That doesn't just mean louder, but you need to breath in more air and breath out more as well....wake up the neighbors if you have to. You have decent pitch, but you get off at a few points, just pratice this actaul song more, and the vocal melody will come naturally. Also try singing solo...no guitar, find out what works. Keep recording, that is probably the best way to get better at singing.
