thats understandable. Im not familiar with the you send it links and stuff. If someone could hook me up with help with that, itd be awesome. but if not , thats cool and ill just forget bout it. I only know how to do one type of upload which is for my html site and nothing else. So thats why im so clueless on everything else. Thanks for answering my question though.

hey man, i think we're just using yousendit and giving the link to swede. he's going to post the links the day of the competition. if someone wants to host that would be awesome but i think this is going to be a pretty big competition so i'm not sure anyone would want to host 7 or 8 songs. or more. whatever

1. something we did in a comp a long time ago that really worked was that instead of having a poll, people voted their 1st 2nd and 3rd favorites and you got 3 pts for 1st, 2 pts for 2nd and 1 pt for 3rd and the points got tallied up as we go.
the huge benifit of this is that there's no poll to worry about and the people that entered the contest don't have to worry about feeling bad about voting jsut so they can see the poll etc etc. also, this gives people oppertunity to put down reasons they liked or disliked instead of just voting on a poll.

2. i think each song's lyrics should be posted under the song link on the first page so everyone can follow along w/ the lyrics. lyrics are going to be part of this competition.

anyway, tellme what you think and i'll send you the lyrics as soon as i get word from you. peace outtie, hope you enjoy the song.

just go to yousendit.com and it gives you directions. in the e-mail slot, put swede's e-mail address that he provides on one of the first pages of this thread

what if we PM'd our top to swede and he shows the top three results?

Then no one gets discouraged if they see that they are not getting any votes

you can barely get people to critique when they have to listen to it once. no way people are going to come back and critique after the comp is over. what if they just critique and don't say who they think is the best and just pm that to swede.

personally i don't see what the big deal is about making it public, it's never been a problem before.

i don't even care about the "contest" so i'm not deciding anything about that. i just really want to hear other people's songs and i want to hear what people think about mine. so, you guys can decide how the voting is going to take place...as long as i get to hear and read
