Where to buy Alvarez Guitars online?

Unread post by NPR » Thu Aug 11, 2005 9:23 am

Hey guys where is the best place online to purchase an alvarez guitar? I have to buy one for a friend and they are scarce around town so I figured I would have to take this online.

I bought my alvarez by searching on http://www.froogle.com

I dont remember the name of the place I got mine from but it was the cheapest after shipping. Just do a search for the model you want and then do it from low to high price.

Also, look on eBay. You can get a brand new last model (the older and better looking bridge) for CHEAP. I almost want to pick up another one of mine.

Thanks Check! I found the guitar I was looking for at this one store for cheap and on top of that they were having a 10% off sale. So it ended up being a really good deal.

My friend just ordered it but see if you can do better.

after the 10% off it was 180 plus 10 bills for shipping so 190 total. A nice first guitar for my buddy.

the best i've seen is i think $219 shipped.

so he got a damn good deal without resorting to eBay or getting an older model.

great first guitar, he can use that thing for a couple years for sure.

Yup I can't wait until he gets it so I can play around with it. I want to get a nice alvarez eventually.

Thanks for the Froogle tip.

No worries,

Fat Jack and I both have the AD60SC. I absolutely love it. it isnt a taylor, and it doesnt sound like a taylor. But, for a $320 brand new guitar, it sounds damn good.

If the fusion series wasnt ugly ass stained colors I would want one. played one before I ordered mine and loved it.
also check out the Yairi Chet imitation. it looks like one bad ass guitar. definately want one of those.

I've heard a lot of good about Alvarez. Never got the chance to play one. I've got a couple questions about the AD60S or SC.

How's the action?
Neck and fingerboard size/width?

I'm looking to get rid of my Takamine. It's got too thin of a neck for my elongated fingers. Since I bought it I only played it on about 10 different occasions. Other than that it's been unused.

Anything else about Alvarez is appreciated.

i feel as though the neck on mine is slightly larger/thicker then my old takamine, but my old takamine was a jasmine :P . not a bad guitar, but not anything good. i have the 60CK though, i dont think thats the model your looking for.

I dont know though like i said my neck/fingerboard might be pretty decently sized but I'm just not use to it (or wasn't use to it, its been 2 months now i've grown accustomed) from playing a lot longer on that Jasmine.

edit: my hands aren't monstrosities or anything they are just normal i guess maybe even a little smaller then most people on here.

origionally the action was amzing, but the sound lacked bass a bit.
over time the sound has improved a ton, however, the action has been raising slowly. I leave mine out right infront of a window everyday and nightt. so that's probably why.

still a great guitar and you can get the last model of them for really cheap on ebay.
