Songs you can't finish
Is there any songs that you play but you just can't finish them because of emotions?
Yes, I am in a box

no, i can't say that there is. when i perform, i try to make it so that others feel the emotions. so i try to be emotional w/o getting too emotional. i just played a song called "Whisper" that i wrote for my grandmother after she passed away for a couple of my friends and my girlfriend the other day. they started crying. so while i can still finish the song, i still try to express as much emotion as possible while singing and still finish the song. its a better experince for the listeners.

I play #40 over and over because I love the sound of the main riff. Just today I played Halloween for about 15 minutes, making up most of the lyrics and mumbling and raving and shouting davespeak like a drunken fool. It sounded pretty good to me, except I probably sounded like louie armstrong on crack. Seek Up I can never figure out how to stop, because I love it so much. I could play the instrumental verse for the boxer by simon and garfunkel for a long time because I love the sound when I travis pick the guitar. the same goes for the verse of Katmandu by Cat Stevens. I frequently make up lyrics for Mother Nature's Son and Helter Skelter by the beatles because I really get into them. the same goes for drive by incubus.Ranting Thespian wrote:I have a song named Emily. I can't finish playing the song all the time, because of the person in the title. Same with #40 because of the same rememberance of that person.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

The "tomorrow say goodbye" part of say goodbye is so addictive because I love the sound of those three chords.
