CAMDEN 9-6-03 AWESOME SHOW

Unread post by PlayLikeDave » Sun Sep 07, 2003 2:28 am

Greatest Show EVER!!! Ok...a bit of an overstatement...14 songs, 2 song encore. Starts with Stay, ends with Billies. WOW. I was there with a lovely young woman, and I hope we can go again :D The show was beyond what I could have imagined. It was fast...slow..FAST...FAST...S-L-O-W....FAST FAST FAST. He killed it when he busted out with Watchtower: Stefan threw down a kick a$$ bass solo to open, and Dave jammed so hard. BARTENDER ON THE WALNUT 12 STRING!!! HOLEY RUSTED METAL BATMAN. That guitar is so sweet. I yelled so hard during the song that I pulled a muscle. I was dying for Stone, and he slammed it down 3rd. I was yelling for Billies, and he closed with it. He blew us away with Stay as the opener. DMB or John Mayer...WHO GIVES A $h!7. DMB WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER!!!! btw, this was my first DMB show, hehe.

That's the reaction i had after my first show. ( this summer as well). Its the best feeling. What else was in the set list? I'm curious to know what the "S-L-O-W" part was for you. Congratulations on your first and hopefully many more to come!

Wow, Dave just rocked the rhythm back and forth. Bartender, then Fool To Think. Nancies, then Where Are You Going. WATCHTOWER TO SPOON. That slowed everything down. Then Ants Marching which got everyone pumped. A 30,000 person sing-along. The slowest part was Help Myself probably bc I don't ever really listen to it, although I am gonna have to now  It is all good tho. Still an awesome show. I wish I had my guitar. I just wanna jam with Dave one day.

By the way, DMB opened with Stay-Crush-The Stone-DDTW. That is enough to make a grown man cry from joy and excitement. If you wondering, I didn't. I just broke my jaw on the ground cuz DMB made it drop like a freaking boulder from playing 4 of the songs I wanted to hear right away.

Walnut!!! Oh yea...it was. It doesn't matter...the guitar was so beautiful, and the jam at the end of Bartender coulda put me in Heaven. Thanks for the heads up.

hehe. i saw bartender live this year too...great stuff, especially those wails at the end. a little tedious just listening to them at home, but experiencing them is another thing.

definitely glad that you had a great time. here's hope to more shows!

YEah, I was there too - it was really sweet. Only thing that sucked was that some drunk dude pissed on our sheet out on the lawn. I fucking yelled at him like mad, cuz he kept saying that he didn't do it. I was like "Dude, I saw you from 5 feet away!" It was nasty shit. Other than that, the nancies violin solo was awesome, carter rocks and the setlist was great. Would've liked to hear recently though....

Nice, I'm here at Princeton U. - I think I drove right by you to get to Camden - Hopefully you weren't the one who pissed on my sheet ;-)

Yeah, Nancies rocked. I wanted to hear it live since I listened to L@RR.

It sucked that the drunk fellow went on your blanket. A couple of cousins of mine went to some rock concert a few years ago, and a guy peed on their leather jackets (no they weren't wearing them when this happened, lol). But I wanted to hear recently too. I would have liked that over Fool To Think, but Dave jammed down around the 12 fret on that song. Awesome.
