Pedals pedals and more pedals
Pedals pedals and more pedals
I just came into a little money and i want to get some effects pedals. i want a good reverb, good digital delay, and a good gain pedal. any suggestions on name brands? im looking aroun 70 - 100 dollars per pedal. also, any suggestions on any other effects that would be cool to look into?

Don't shell out the extra money for the DD-6 unless you have lots to spare..
the other ones (I bleieve the DD-5 and DD-3) go for, like 20 and 50 bucks cheaper (at least in Canada) and are just as good... I think the only big difference is you can get a 23-second delay with the DD-6.. it's what Satch uses.. but it's really not that necessary.
also look and see if you can find these pedals used.. they run MUCH cheaper that way ,and the boss pedals are durable so you shoulnd't have any problems with it.

I believe the DD5 is now discontinued (from the rumours I've heard) plus the DD6 has built in tap-tempo and a warp mode that the DD5 does not.
I prefer the footswitch as a tap tempo which can be used on the dd5 so I would choose the DD5 over the DD6 if you can find one. (However the DD6 is still an awesome pedal)

DD-2 is much warmer and analog like. All DD's aregreat though. If you can find itI also really enjoy my HF-2 hi-bland flanger. Much nicer than regular flanger.
also: try getting one at a time and learning about them before you get another one. That way you will have a much more thorough understanding and bangfor buck IMO.

that's what i ended up getting. the dd-6. im broke for the next month but, its worth it. i also got an overdrive pedal. in hindsight, i think id rather had a distortion pedal instead, but the overdrive is a little warmer i guess. i really like the dd-6, but i haven't figured it all out yet.fatjack wrote:i think that the DD-6 would be worth the money because it has the reverse mode and the DD-3 doesn't...

well it depends on what you want. i got a volume only pedal, no wah and its pretty cool. it was really cheap. you can get a volume pedal for like 30 bucks and be ok, but if you're getting something advanced like a cry baby or some other wah pedal, you're going to want to spend some money to get something good...like 100 bucks or sogrock wrote:does anyone have opinions on volume/wah pedals. this has been tuggin on my mind lately.
