I have the entire Inside Out special, its about 40 minutes long (i think) I wouldnt know how to cut out just the section of the song, but I'll give it to you over AIM if you want the whole thing. I think its well over 100 megs though.Coldchillin23222 wrote:smedley wrote:so can anyone send me this video of dave and trey?smedley wrote:i'm interested in it kahn

Someone mentioned a while back a good trick which is SO simple but effective, tie a tee shirt around your fret board to mute/muffle sound to practice your strumming.smedley wrote:it can be fast sometimes, lol, ill get it from you in a couple of minutes and jjust let it go overnightKahnTheRevelator wrote:just checked, its 444 megssmedley wrote:if/when i see you on, i'm gonna IM you, alrighty?KahnTheRevelator wrote:I have the entire Inside Out special, its about 40 minutes long (i think) I wouldnt know how to cut out just the section of the song, but I'll give it to you over AIM if you want the whole thing. Dave is very SRV in the up-down-up-down stroke, this song req's that you can master that type of strum, the hammer ons come w/practice.
If I can play this song (decently) I know you can

Sorry, I forgot I wrote this....I'm talking about the "does that screaming come from me" in the last chorus. I have a chicago dvd and the aol sessions and the snl performance and he does it during all of those. It's just a little part, but it makes the song sound so much better than just doing to normal chorus the whole time. Not a big deal, but just throwing it out there. We are trying to be as accurate as possible, right?

edit: sorry, i threw this together quickly before work, it sounds terrible, but you get the idea!

I watched the AOL Sessions and I don't see anything in that video that he does differently than the tab up. If you could explain it a little more what your talking about, still having trouble understanding!!!GreedyE wrote:Sorry, I forgot I wrote this....I'm talking about the "does that screaming come from me" in the last chorus. It doesn't show it, but you can hear it. And Tim or Trey do it on the album and I think Dave just wanted to mix things up when playing it solo.purljam999 wrote:If I remember correctly, the AOL Sessions video manages to not show his guitar or anything close to it during that whole run.
Kanter, watch at about 16:50 if you have the same video I do, he goes from the F# straight to what I tabbed out.

It doesn't do a close up on his guitar, but the sessions I have (which I got from DMBONTV and I'm assuming you are watching the same one) shows a glimpse of his guitar and you can see him start the chords. And I was watching the SNL video and although they don't show his guitar, they do a closeup of Dave and you can tell that he isn't doing the normal chorus chords (3:13 specifically). So I'm assuming that Dave is doing what he does in Sessions. Kukini has the part tabbed out. I may be wrong and he may only do it sometimes, but I'm simply suggesting that this is actually Dave's part in the song that we were just overlooking before. Hopefully I've explained it better and you can understand what I was babbling about before.
Oh yeah, I only have one D&F DVD and it's from Chicago and he does it at that show also, so these are my three points of reference.
