So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Stay or Leave Corrected Tab

Unread post by Kukini » Sun Jul 31, 2005 8:10 pm

I've watched like 10 videos of this song and I'm positive that this is how he plays them.

Code: Select all

End of Verse:

 B:-----------------------------2---(3)
F#:---0-----0-------3-----1-----3---(4)
 D:---0-----0-------0-----0-----2---(2)
 A:---2-----0-------4-----2-----x---
 E:---2-----2---3/5-5---3-3---2-2---
 B:-0-0---3-3-----------------------
          3 (3) 3 2

"Remember we used to..."

 B:----------0-----0--------
F#:----------1-----0-----3--
 D:---9------2-----2-----2--
 A:---10-----2-----2-----x--
 E:---X------0-----x-----x--
 B:-8-8----------3-3---2-2--
    1 4 2

by putting the capo at the 7th fret, anything played relative to the capo is the same as it being played on a raised B guitar.

Almost, it's an octave higher, so something just don't sound "right".

That first chord should be this

Code: Select all

"Remember we used to..."

 B:--10------0-----0--------
F#:---8------1-----0-----3--
 D:---9------2-----2-----2--
 A:---x------2-----2-----x--
 E:---10-----0-----x-----x--
 B:-8-8----------3-3---2-2--
    1 4 2

You can see his pinky on the 10 in this picture, save and zoom in if you need to.

After watching it closely on the AOL Sessions video...last chord of verse is x-2-x-3-2-x and the first chord of "Remember..." is 8-x-10-9-x-10 .....no doubt about either

I am 1000000% certain it is 8-10-x-9-x-10, or with the 8 on the B. I just watched the AOL Sessions video again and when he plays that chord the second time throughm it shows it close up.

Its relative on standard with a capo on 7, but it sounds different, and Kanter, do what you will but I've seen him play that a few times. Sessions @ AOL, Farm Aid 04', countless DVD's...

I see what happened :) When I paused it on that part...it was before he put the finger on the A string. He first put it on the D and then messed up then put it on A :) So yeah...that's the right chord

that doesn't sound right at all. do you mean x2x23x? but i actually think its x2x03x. if you listen closely, you can hear the G, err D because its in raised B.
