time to just Daydream a little

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

time to just Daydream a little

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Sat Sep 06, 2003 2:48 am

Well, here's a question

1- what's your dream acoustic
2- what's your dream electric
3- what's your dream "special" guitar (not ususal electric or acoustic. Like the les paul acoustic, or a mandolin, and such)
4- what's your dream gig?

1- Either a Martin D-40, or a 1950s or 60s D-28
2- Benedetto Signature Model - Stuart http://www.guildguitars.com/gear/gear.p ... no=3609500
3- Gibson Les Paul Acoustic
4- A stage constructed, in the country. Very simple, with me and a back up band (mostly acoustic). There are no seats, or lines, or anything. All the cost is what ever donation you want to make for Mental Dissabilities. It's just a stage out there, and everyone joins in and enjoys the music, without any hate. The concert would end with John Lennon's chant song that didn't make Double Fantasy, One Wolrd One People. We would all start chanting it and jamming. No drugs, no beer, nothing but love, peace, and music. :)

similar thread here. http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=4793

and that sounds like a nice gig. :) the likelihood of it is slim, but hey, it's dreams.

as for the questions, i'm pretty happy with my 414ces ltd. i'm not much of an electric kind of guy. can't think of a "special" guitar...though i'd like to learn sitar. and it'll be a while until i start thinking about gigs. ;)

1) Martin OM-42 at the moment

2) Fender Custom Shop Strat w/ flame maple neck, candy apple red finish and '60's era pickups...

3) an old Gibson Banjo or Mandolin

4) an end of the tour homecoming show at DTE Energy Music Theater here in Metro Detroit, Michigan...end of the summer tour I should add, so it's that wonderful point in the summer where things are sorta winding down...the last hurrah, a beautiful starry night, and most importantly, all my friends and family would be right up front, I'd do an extra long set dedicated to them w/ rare songs and covers like Toad the Wet Sprocket's "I Will Not Take These Things For Granted," then we'd celebrate after til the sun comes up...there's the most general description of my dream gig I could possibly come up with...it'd just be a celebration.

Oh, it would be a dream to own a Bennedetto.

Also, I have nothing against people drinking or doing "safe" drugs.

But I just don't get getting all drugged up and then seeing a concert. I would think the music is enough of a wonderful thing that you don't need to"enahnce" it (even though I think it takes more away from the actual music, and more to the feeling of the drugs). If I did drugs, I'd do them at home haning out, but going to a concert I would want to enjoy the concert raw, with nothing but the reson for the concert, music, and a great performance.

You can do it, I have nothing against anyone who gets a beer at a show or something. It's your life, your ticket, your own experience, it's all your choice. I just don't understand it.

peace :)

anyways, peace :)

Honestly.....the closest REAL TRUE GIG like that, that I've heard....has been Bon Jovi in Giants Stadium about 2 or 3 years ago. I haven't heard much about it and I don't relaly know how much everyone here likes Bon Jovi.

But He's from New Jersey and after their last show of a tour(in Giants Stadium) they just as on the 50th yard line of Giants Stadium and drank beers and smoked(I think) till the night was young........

Another great story......the night Phish decided to call it quits(for 2yrs or so)....they just talked and smoked weed and drank after the last show of the tour. No family...no friends....no managment. After like 16yrs of playin together....they just decided to put it on hold for a little. It's those kind of nights that your talking about.

Elliot.........Wheny our in something meaningful and you know it.......that kind of moment would come.....PEACE

It'd be nice to have one of those ovation acoustics with built in tuners.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
