In light of the.........
"Awesome News from Ants" thread, I have decided that collectivley, we as an online entity need to kill Mark Batson before January. Nothing messy, just make it look like an accident. It's like Saving Silverman, except we are gonna kill Batson and set DMB up with Lanois!

Since they will probably never get back with Lillywhite, I would love to see them work with Lanois. Unfortunately I got a very bad feeling that it is going to be Batson again eventhough fans have made it clear they don't really approve of his work. I think they are just going back in to finish up the incomplete songs from the Stand Up sessions, and I for one am not expecting anything special out of it.

They should just suck Lillywhite's dick, give him a rimjob, whatever they have to do to get him back. They're not getting it done with other producers. Their albums of late all sound like they were thrown together in a couple weeks...which they were. Great records take time to make. Not this "make a whole new song in a day" bullshit.

Kahn, you sound like my friend Dan. We together once hatched a plot to off an older guy who used to own the club where we both work for his cash that he hides under his bed. Unfortunately, Dan wrote an entire song about the act and you just made a post which ultimately did the same thing = a WRITTEN CONFESSION!
D'oh
I agree with you though, Batson was NOT the choice for this album. I almost feel like DMB is going the way of Neil Young and purposely trying to alienate their label.

i have a question: have any of DMB's albums/songs (not counting R2T) been recorded in real-time? like, in one performance? that seems to be the most genuine way to do it

I remember in an interview that Dave did a little while back he mentioned how much different the recording process was for SU than all their previous work. He said that on previous records they would try and capture what they did live and put an extreme polish on it, so it would be in essence a perfect capture of a live performance. Vocals wise though Dave doesn't sing when they record the music for each song, that is always done seperately.i am sam2 wrote:i have a question: have any of DMB's albums/songs (not counting R2T) been recorded in real-time? like, in one performance? that seems to be the most genuine way to do it
