We always just crotch 20 oz. bottles filled with booze. They never check the crotchal regions and you can buy mixers in the venue. With a sizeable group you can get in quite a selection. Cameras and oyther contraband are easily smuggled in this way, too, at least at Alpine. They give a quick pat to the pockets and waist and boom, you're through.

I roll about 10 joints and put them in a cigarette box, and put it in my back pocket. everytime they pat me down they think its my wallet.

One time at SPAC i got caught bringing in blunts in my cargo pockets, after I put them elsewhere the guy gave my package quite a search when i went back through.
