i really don't have any advice for getting faster...and i know this sounds crappy, but practice. sorry there isn't really anything better. are you alternate picking w/ your strumming hand? cause if you are, it takes a while to get it synched w/ your left hand.

that comes with practice.

get a metronome, or tap your foot, or just do anything that consists of starting out slow then speed up.
play it incredibly slow until you hit every now perfectly, then speed up, making sure everything's correct. eventually you'll get it.
that's how i learn a lot of my songs. i don't play it perfectly to tempo the first time through.

persistance and patience are great things when it comes to playing guitar, but mayhaps not women.

it just sounds so off, those 4 notes, sounds like something's missing. i can play it perfectly slow and fast, hitting the notes and such, but it still doesn't sound like 3/29/03

Well, if you really listen to the record, someone...either Dave or Tim, throws in another 5 in there. Listen for it... That might be the thing you are talking about. If so, it is played Exactly like The Stone.
Dave plays it this way on 3/29. Trust me, just listen to it!
Match it up with The Stone strumming pattern
Code: Select all
Drive In, Drive Out
E:----------------------
B:----------------------
G:----------------------
D:----5--4--------------
A:----------5-5--4-5-4--
E:-5--------------------
The Stone
E:----------------------
B:----------------------
G:----2-----------------
D:-------3--5-5--2-3-2--
A:-5--------------------
E:----------------------
Take a listen -

Jared, I suggest reevaluating your tab for this....listen to 3.29.03...it's pretty apparent in that live version.
