Gregb from ants did some nice detective work and found that Live Trax 4 is going be the Crash Release Party.

It says TBD on the side, but if you look closely at the cover art you can actually read the date and it says 4.30.1996

Now, i have no idea how good this show was but im very dissapointed in the set list. Im sure nearly all of these songs have been on every other Live Trax. It would be nice to see a few other songs emerge for a change.

exactly what milligan said, these songs are on almost every live cd they have put out
so far from the live trax series, #1 and San Fran seem to be the best

Nice, I'm all about a 96 show. The way I see it is not by the setlist, but by year. They haven't released a 96 show yet.

95 - Red Rocks
96 - Live Trax 4
97 - None
98 - Chicago, Live Trax 1
99 - Listener Supporter
00 - Live Trax 3
01 - Folsom
02 - Gorge
03 - Central Park
04 - Live Trax 2

So, not to start predicting Live Trax 5, but I call either 97 or 05.

Still, I'm excited for some more old school DMB.

So if they were all the same setlist but different years you wouldnt mind?

Yes I would mind, but they aren't the same setlists. A release from 98 is going to have alot of BTCS, 00 Lillywhite Sessions, etc. You wouldn't see this setlist in the years after it.

Anyway, I'm not gonna bash this selection for Live Trax at all. Even though we all have these songs, they are going to sound completely different. A Two Step from 96 will not sound nearly the same as the Central Park Two Step. Look at the song times from this show : http://www.dmbalmanac.com/TourShowSet.a ... where=1996. They don't have long jams or solos. I'm excited because its interesting to see how the songs evolve and progress over time.

Plus, its a release party. Chances are Dave talks with the crowd, which always provides entertainment.

Yeah i get what your saying. However, i still say there is only so many times you can put, Jimi Thing, Too Much, SMTS, Billies, Ants, Crash, DIDO, Watchtower and Satalite on a CD!
So i still disagree with you.

Yeah, we've heard these songs before, plenty of times. But its from 96; they didn't have a huge selection of songs to play. Plus, the last 3 Live Trax have been kick ass. I'm sure this show has to be good for them to release it in this series.
