people can say what they want...but its stuff like that and stay or leave that make me really excited about this cd. i just wish it were the whole band.
btw, i think im confused as to what is going on here. when i first heard of a dave only cd, i though acoustic, maybe some tim in there somewhere. who is this band that he's playing w/. and is he goign to play any of these songs w/ the real dmb in concert?? i guess i just don't see the point in getting new band members for one cd.

i think dave's just testing new ground as an artist. even if he's rehashing old guitar parts or whatever, at least he's trying to do something to grow. it's already been discussed before about what a "solo" album means. i think we just assumed too much about it being wholly acoustic, with tim, and what have you.
the "band" that dave is playing with is just a bunch of guests. dirty dozen brass band, trey anastasio who co-wrote grey blue eyes with him, etc. it's important that he's absorbing as much as he can from other people and different artists. i think he even has a DJ on there.
there was a thread on the bridge where dave talked about why exactly he wanted to make the solo album. to sum it up, there were a few songs here and there that dave didn't feel really fit into the entire band (dmb) and it started as a side project that sort of snowballed into an album. i'll see if i can find it for you.
anyway, that's just my thoughts, along with a bit of dave's.

a DJ?!?! blegh!!! i would be looking forward to this CD if it weren't for the terrible production i've heard so far!
have you heard the clip of stay or leave yet apps? it has this stupid percussive effect in the background that makes it sound like phil collins... i'd rather stick with the live versions of the song

yea fatjack, im getting one too. i haven't heard the new SOL. so im not sure if it's good or not. if it sounds like phil collins im gonna be pissed though, cause i hate him, and his innability to speak softly. (southpark joke if you didn't get it)
but i already ordered it so im going to be as positive as possible.
