other than a few slightly off key notes on the vocals, it sounded really good, the harmonies were what shined the most :D

:) thanks for the comments from both of ya. glad you liked my uh...soothing voice, cor, but don't expect me to sing you to sleep anytime soon. ;)

as for the slightly off key notes, i'll make sure to be more aware of 'em next time. listening to the clip after putting it away for a while helped me notice 'em a little better. what i was mainly working on was the harmonies, and a thumbs up from fatjack helps me know i'm going in the right direction. ;)

thanks again for taking a listen, guys! 'ppreciate it. i'll finish it sooner or later. hehe.

Okay. I'm going to be brutally honest here. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I just can't get into your voice. This clip is probably one of your best, but it still has that whispering quality. It's not necessarily a bad thing as it's your style. It's just not something I would see myself listening to. Overall the singing/songwriting is good, it's just not a style that suits me.

Perhaps this isn't the type of criticism you're looking for. Like who cares what one person thinks, right? But my advice would be to use elements of this "whispery" singing within a song, not rely on it all the way through.

Just my opinion. Everyone here has heard my voice so obviously I'm no expert.

:) better than lieing to me and getting my hopes up, roast. ;) i appreciate it a lot. i'm still working on the voice, and it's slowly getting better. it's improved from my first clip, and sometimes it's good, at least for slower songs, but anything uptempo sorta gets killed. i'm working on it, along with my songwriting. i definitely wouldn't say i've found my style yet, but it's getting there. :)

any tips/examples of using it within a song? i'm not entirely aware of relying on it the whole way through.

thanks again, grandpa beef! ;) (something i mentioned in an old thread...)

can't satisfy everyone, though...:P

Glad you didn't take offense to my comments. I'm trying to be constructive here and thanks for a mature response. I agree. It has improved a lot. It does seem like slower songs better suit the vocals we've heard from you so far.

I don't know. I think I'd like to hear you rip it up and let loose on a chorus or prechorus or something. I just think a song with just the soft "whispery" vocals will get kinda sleepy after a while.

no problem. mature feedback deserves mature response, or something...but maybe that's just you being old again. ;)

now i have to either write an uptempo song or learn one...hmm...
Roastbeef wrote:rip it up
 that cracked me up. ;) and i agree, i have too many sleepy songs. good for a while, but i need to work on mixing it up.

thanks a lot, though. i've still got a ways to go, and it's nice to have some direction. :)

oh yeah! *hands you your cane* (-----
