Holding a Pick

If you hold it with your middle finger you dont have as much control over the pick. You cant pick as fast, and you will drop it more often. It you curl your index and hold it between the side of your index and thumb then you have a better grip and you will be able to play faster and have better precision.

It's all really preference. It takes a lot of practice too in order to keep control of the pick.

I just wanted everyone to know, that in the two and a half years since I first posted this message, I have incorperated everyone's suggestions and learned to hold a pick.CPTino3001 wrote:OK...now it's a little late for me to be relizing this...but I dont think I'm holding the pick in the proper manner...I usually kinda hold it with my index and middle finger on one side and my thumb on the other, as opposed to holding it between my thumb and the side of my index finger...Do I need to adjust my method, or is it not really that big of a deal?
