i've been playign 2 years or so.
i'm not good at playing dave's stuff, but i can do some hard classical peices and stuff by trey anastio and the dead. i'm no way good for a guy, but for an average girl, i'm alright....hell there are practically no female guitarists, so..

exactly...you're already better than most girls who say "i can play guitar" and can't even make an A chord. haha.grateful26guitar wrote:i've been playign 2 years or so.

yea
i know a lot of girls who own guitars, but then don't know the basic chord shapes. it's really weird. i think i've only met two girls my age who play the guitar and do it well. actually know what they are doing, as opposed to the general population of female players...rather guitar owners.
this sounds weird, but i'm biased against female guitar players. i know that there will be, and might be a female guitarist out there who can do it jsut as well as the legends, but i know i like male guitarist better.
It seems in the whole realm of things, female guitarists aren't as successful as males, unless they are in a group with men, ie. the Pixies, Talking Heads., ect.

pretty wierd right that i feel that way?
I mean I would love to be able to share my music with large audiences like Dave, I just don't think that will ever happen.
I can't believe I'm predijust against most female rockers..I just am.
Don't get me wrong, I love Joni Mitchell and Janis Joplin, Tina of the Heads, and Pixies' bassist...but...I think I'm nuts. haha

I'm not trying to sound (overly) chauvinist or anything, but really, it's just reality that most female guitarists fall short of their male counterparts.grateful26guitar wrote:pretty wierd right that i feel that way?
