Well yes, but a lengthy discussion of how to get things for free that normally cost money is probably out of scope for this site. Since I'm all for Kanter never being sued, I'm afraid I can't share my evil wisdom. Sorry. You are in a university though, ask those geeky looking people, they all know, but they might not want to tell you. Buy them alcohol and set them up on dates with easy women.

dmbshare.org, dmbshare.net, dmbshare.servebeer.com, sharingthegroove.dyndns.org, shnapster.dyndns.org
If you don't have a whole lot of stuff to share, your best bet is servebeer, since they pretty much have no rules on the amount of stuff you need.
These hubs are mostly Dave, but a few people have their shared folders
