peter griesar+dmb=>dmb?

Unread post by musicalman865 » Sat Jul 02, 2005 8:53 pm

do you think dmb would be better off if peter griesar had stayed or left? would if "people people" had grown into a popular song if peter griesar had stayed and the band would be more likely to play it?

I think DMB is doing pretty damn well for themselves without Mr. Griesar, no disrespect to the man.

honestly i never heard any of his stuff...but i imagine that, if his leaving didnt even prompt them to find an immediate replacement, they didnt find him too important

i loved peter he was just in there it was great, he really made the jams work, all the jams for typical situation were sooo much better with him than they are now and other songs, check out TS from the 11.17.92 show.

I almost invariably felt it was out of place. Now that Butch does it during Warehouse I like it a LOT more.

i've never heard it really, so i can't comment, but i've HEARD taht griesar made some songs sound like a midi because his playing overpowered the band. again, just something i've heard.

Yeah, I don't think he was that special of a player. Just go listen to the Van Rypers Music Festival show back in 92, he does make some songs sound kinda corny. However, his help in writing songs like SMTS really helped out the band.

I thought we established it wasn't him at Van Rypers? (Or was c_tietze's video not Van Ryper's?)

Its him, I remember Dave even giving him a "Peter Griesar on the keys.", after some songs.
