how hard is crush?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

how hard is crush?

Unread post by jimmything117 » Sun Nov 03, 2002 12:54 pm

Well, my title basically says it all. How hard is it to play Crush? I noticed that there isn't much talk about it in these forums. Is that because it's easy or because it's too hard to play :D

Thanks in advance!

P.S. The reason I ask is because I'm a newbie and I really like that song 8)

Crush

it's actually one of the first Dave songs I ever learned - I think its the first full one I learned. Of course I played it all wrong - similar chords but not the way Dave plays it. I eventually learned it the right way and its really not all that hard. If you learn it in sections, I think it'll be easier - I think there's like 4 different sections to it. "crazy how it feels tonight.." "lovely lady, I am at your feet..." "It's crazy I'm thinkin'..." and the jam part. Great fun song to play. It's in Drop-D tuning which may give beginners a hard time.

peace,
Ken

how hard is the strumming in Crush? The strumming seems to be the part that messes me up the most in the dave songs. Thanks!

It's a very, very, very basic song.

I know the date of the first post :)

It seems that after watching Dave play it on AOL that the hardest part is the palm muting.

when I first started playing dave songs i couldnt come close to playing it.

ive never really sat down and tried to learn it, but I think the rhythym can be tricky if you are starting out with this music and some of the changes are very akward for me personally.

It's hard to find a good tab for it. I've seen 3 different tabs and 2 different videos for it, they all play it slightly different and to me none of them sound like the CD version...

The song it self it's too hard. A few jumps from chords to chords, but the chords and strumming isn't hard at all.

this site's tab is pretty good, i heard they actually looked at the videos of dave playing it, so it's 100% accurate

Pretty sure that's what happened, but you can't always trust rumors you know?

For us living any other ways was nuts. with all the goodie-goodies working shitty jobs for bum pay checks, took the subway work and worried about their bills were dead. they were suckers, they had no balls. if we wanted something we just took it, and if anybody complained twice they got hit so hard believe me they never complained again
