Good sites for theory.

Unread post by bighuk » Sat Jun 18, 2005 7:48 pm

I've run across some medicore sites on theory but I still have a bit of trouble learning it. I'm going to be taking a introduction to guitar class in the fall for theory and would like to get a jump on it or maybe even be able to elaborate on the fundamentals learned there. If anyone has some good theory tutorials or sites i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
cj

God you guys are stupid. Music theoory doesn't matter. All you have to do is just pick up a guitar and play the tabs and not understand what's going on. Real musicians don't need to understand things like time signature and what key your playing in. :-) J/K

Forget the internet. Pick up an instrument, find a teacher, and ask to be taught. The easiest way to learn is not from the cyber world, it's from another person. Even it's not from a teacher you have to pay. Find a friend or something, but people are a much more reliable source. Just my opinion. I learned very basic theory from books, but found that I thought I understood something, then when someone explained it to me, I had found that I learned it wrong, by misinterpreting the book.

Just a friendly suggestion.
