It gets kind of dissapointing when you know what half of your set is going to be. It was bad enough last summer when I knew that I would hear the 4 songs being road tested, but now just by knowing one album, I can predict what half my setlist is going to be. Kind of glad actually that I'm not going this summer. I want the Stand Up craze to simmer down a bit, and see them in summer next year, where I can hear a little more variety. I don't get it. 2003 was such an amazing summer tour, and it seems like they've gone downhill since then. Musically they are at an all new peak of tightness, but they are keeping the same 35 songs (tops) in rotation. It used to be you had to wait at least 2 nights before hearing a repeat of your favorite tune, or at wait till they went to a new venue. Now songs like The Stone, #41..etc. that used to be fairly rare are appearing every 3rd night or so. I just worry that DMB is getting more and more boring, rather then more and more exciting.

I'm thinking about selling my night 2 SPAC tickets, these setlists are just really starting to piss me off. Its all very similar to the shitty Everyday tour.

I got inside for night 1 and lawn for night 2 so even if they are dead tired from Live 8 at least I'll be inside and not fighting of drunk morons on the lawn.

I just got back from hershey. I can honestly say...maybe 3 or 4 songs that got me excited. Also, "stolen away" was terribly placed. Just when they had everyone on their feet and into the show, they pull it out. Terrible choice.

A lot of people who went on other messageboards actually left the second they heard What You Are start as the closer. They also said that this could have been the worst show they have ever seen, no energy with probably the shittiest set list since a 01 show.

As I'm sure most know, I'm not at all an apologist of this tour's setlists... but I would kill to hear a What You Are closer. The rest of it is weak.

jsut got back from hershey..first off there was ALOT of energy from the crowd, atleast better than the meadows.. i sat on the field 44 rows back, pretty good seats.

Hello Again and Granny were great, everyone was singing it was real energetic. American baby was AWESOME! sweet fuckin jam at the end, dave was going crazy. I felt they overjammed a bit of the slower songs, like stolen away and smooth rider. Great to hear WTWE, its one of the songs i want to hear live this summer. Crash gave me goosebumps during 'dixie chicken', everyone was singing their hearts out. Nancies was solid as usual, and i guessed they were going to close with billies..man that fuckin ROCKED! What you are was a big surprise too, it was sick nonetheless. The only stuff that was a bummer was hunger as an opener for me AGAIN! that song fuckin sucks as an opener, not a huge fan. and i think the band needs to cut the long jams with the slower songs, but overall i thought the concert was pretty good...id give it a 7/10.

amen.

friend of mine went both nights in Hartford, said he got 5 or so repeats. That's fuckin' rediculous from a band with 6 studio albums, a huge number of unreleased songs, and a number of covers. I personally feel like if DMB started taking a philosophy more in line with what Phish did for 20+ years, mixing up sets, and being able to 2+ nights without repeating one song, I would be much more stoaked to see them.
