Just got back from the show!

Unread post by jpittman » Sun Aug 24, 2003 11:07 pm

Before I hit the books for an hour or two, I just wanted to publically thank Kanter for getting me out to tonight's show in Jersey. He even came and picked me up, which is nice since I don't have a car.

It was a pretty damn good show; among the highlights for me (I know I'm forgetting some stuff though):
Opener: DDTW (I called it! 8))
Fool to Think
Crush
#41
Pay For What You Get (I was thrilled)
Help Myself
You Never Know
Stay

Encore was kind of weak (Grey Street [I just don't like the new version], What You Are), but he did a damn cool 2 minute intro or so to WYA; neither Kanter nor I have ever heard it, so maybe someone can fill us in.

Dave had some mic problems the first two songs; it was cutting in and out. They just switched his with Boyd, a few adjustments, and off we went.

Anyway, it was great night; now at least the two Jareds have actually met. ;)

Hope all is well in your corners of the world!

Upon review of nancies, I've been informed that the show was "terrible", they had an "off-night", and the set seemed short and barely average.

I guess I just have lower standards. ;)

Oh, and I forgot: One Sweet World (with teh musical intro); that was pretty cool.

lol. yeah. reading reviews on nancies makes me depressed about the shows i've gone to. but then i realize i had a damn good time. people expect too much and forget to let loose and just have a blast.

and osw with musical intro kicks. ;)

Oh, I know it was short; but we had several long jams.

Anyway, I was just laughing because it seems rare for people to give positive reviews of their shows; I've never been to a show I particularly disliked.

Oh, and he played I Did It; I know this, as it was my bathroom break. ;)

Same with my show. He started playing fool to think, i sat down, looked at the rest of the crowd and everyone else was either sitting down or walking to get a beer or go to the bathroom or something.

I disagree, IDI is about 100 times worse, but i still don't like fool to think. It just doesnt get to me the way his other songs do.

I actually love Fool To Think. I was pretty happy that they played it, but apparently I'm in the minority. ;)

Oh, and tonight's show so far:
Stone
Satellite
WWYS

I wish I could have gone tonight; shaping up to be a good one.
