two step

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

two step

Unread post by mraz698 » Mon Jun 13, 2005 4:31 pm

alright i've been working on two step for sometime. i need some advice on the beginning part of the verse.

E:------------------
B:------------------
G:-10---7\9----2--
D:--x----x\x----3--
A:-8----5\7----3--
E:-10---6\8----1--

when changing from the 87x9xx chord to the F chord i always get the strumming pattern messed up. on the studio version there is this weird pause in the strumming pattern that I just can't seem to figure out. any suggestions would be appreciated, or even a video. i don't think there is a video out there for two step is there?

thanks

There's actually no slide at that part, he just hit the first chord, then quickly goes to the second.

what works for me
when i want to get the strumming just right, i tie a tshirt round the neck of the guitar so that it gives a real weird mute, then strum the song until the sound you make fits (even though there is no notes) ......its makes your guitar a percusion instrament so you gotta get the rythem down,...even when your mind would have been on that chord change

that really worked for me to get down strummy stuff...two step, warehouse,so damn lucky, captin etc........................hope that works for you :)

why don't you just put your left hand over the strings?

With the tee, you can practice your fingerings and strumming without fear.

no slide huh. it really sounds like he slides between those two chords at the beginning. i think it's more difficult if you don't slide.
