how about U2, who put out a new album plus is touring for almost six months. they did some in the US, now they're over in Europe, and they're coming back to America. And though the concerts he is doing are small venue(8,000 people range), Springsteen will be up there. I think they will both outgross DMB.
hosting the oscars is like winning the heisman trophy. no matter how you do in the ballgame, or whatever, they can't take it away from you. and even if you kill your wife and an ex-waiter, they still have a hard time taking it away from you

Rolling Stones will kill DMB as they play as big if not bigger venues and charge 300 bucks a head on half the seats...other bands just can't compete w/ that...U2 will be up there and Coldplay will be right around w/ DMB.

I don't think they would. I have beent trying to get people to go to the Colplay concert with me and my girl and have been having a hell of a time. I never have a hard time getting peoplel to go to DMB shows. Even if they arn't a huge fan they go for the good time. Its been a lot harder with gathering people for Coldplay. Plus theres all the teeny boppers that go to Dave that I don't think Colplay would bring in (thankfully)
They would make a shit load more money though if they played a larger tour.

I got pavilion seats for Coldplay at Burgettstown for like 45. Section 6 Row Y for anyone who is familiar.KahnTheRevelator wrote:Aren't Coldplay tickets like $80 though?. I can get lawn tix for a DMB concert for like $40. I think Coldplay will out-gross DMB.
I completely forgot about U2. Their album came out last year in like November so it might not be selling as strong into January, but their conerts will generate alot of profits.how about U2, who put out a new album plus is touring for almost six months. they did some in the US, now they're over in Europe, and they're coming back to America.

Thats' why Forbes has it listed.bbatsell wrote:if i understand correctly, that's how much money their tour tickets pull in. it doesn't include album sales or anything of the sort, nor does it take into account how much of the money goes to the band. so it's really more like the "which bands make the most money for their record companies" article.DMBassist52 wrote:No, but Rolling Stone Magazine does a article every year with the top 50 grossing bands of that year, and DMB is nearly always in the top 10. So that gives you an idea

Larger acts that have bigger ticket prices are sure to gross more.
DMB is known for touring full time and full tilt year in and year out, not just when there's a new disc out.
The tours of Coldplay and U2 and even DMB (this year) are album supporting tours, luckily DMB is one of the few major acts that performs live even if there is no new disc out.

There would probably still be teeny-boppers. Some teenage girls, I'm sure, cream their pants when they see Chris Martin. And some of them might not even like Coldplay, so you never know.Mjazk26 wrote:bbatsell wrote:Coldplay would own on DMB hard in tour sales if they did a big US tour.
