straylight run --a great band on the rise

Any of you guys ever hear them. Kind of a mix between Hawthorne Heights, Killers, and a little thursday. Have a girl who sings lead vox on some tracks. Check them out.

Listen to "Existentialism on Prom Night" on their site to get an idea of their sound and style.

so who left from TBS. I have only recently got into TBS, but am wondering if their earlier stuff is better or worse than the music from the current lineup. TBS is okay now, but they are a little too emo for me sometimes. I prefer bands like silverstein, riseagainst, strungout (the best band on the planet) , lagwagon, thursday, hawthorne heights, mxpx( new album is sick). TBS is good, but they seem to have fallen into the TRL highschool fanzone, but they arent as bad as GoodCharlotte or SimplePlan and their MTV Punk style. What other dmb fans are really into real punk/indie scence music? The bands above are my fav. Sometimes im in the mood for agressive in your face loud punk, and sometimes nothing beats a classic dmb show on cd, from 96-2000. I like it all. So cheers to all you punk rockers out there who love the scene and still love to tear up the acoustic guitar and jam to some dave. Music is the shit.

peace, tim

What punk/indie bands you guys like....?

PS - Does anyone have or has anyone heard STRUNGOUT's album "Exile in Oblivion" - If you like punk, or loud fast melodic music, get it asap. IMO the best album released in the last 3 years. It really is awesome.

sorry for rambling about nothing, again

I have said this on the boards a few times. If you want good punk, check out a Face to Face cd. That is good shit. I love indie bands like the Get Up Kids, Sunny Day Real Estate, Dennison Mars, Reggie and the Full Efect, so many I can't name I'll get back to you.

edit: any one to ever be signed on Deep Elm records. Bands like Brandtson and Appleseed Cast. As a matter of fact, if you guys think Coldplay is good and original, check out Appleseed Cast's Low Level Owl CD. It blows my fucking mind.

I'm gonna start a thread.

It's indie in that it's on purevolume and not a label, but other than that, pretty much standard acoustic pop.

Maybe I'm biased because I think Taking Back Sunday is shit, but that's me.

It occurs to me that as much as I love DMB, I'm on the wrong board when it comes to music, lol.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.
