That's true enough, but some of the have fairly easy guitar parts (i.e., Grey Street, Halloween, Proudest Monkey), even if playing and SINGING them aren't so easy.
Based strictly on the guitar parts I'd say Proudest Monkey is the easiest song to learn in the catalogue.

Fair enough, I won't then.
I was just thinking about the newbies. People that haven't been long playing guitar, but have been inspired to learn by Dave Matt. I know there are some people like that here on these boards.

since there will be many inconsistencies between players and the songs they consider tough, i think one way of breaking them up would be by the kinds of chords or riffs in the songs. For example, you can put all the songs that are heavy on the stretch chords together since many newer players may consier these to be the toughest. (ie-41, captain, billies, etc.) and rank them based on how much of the song uses stretch chords. There arent as many as i thought when i started this post. Another category could be the songs that are carried by a single note riff or melody (ie - stone, driveindriveout, satellite, rapunzel, minarets) I suggest this method only because these are usually the kinds of songs that dave guitar players consider tough. Songs w big stretch chords, and songs w a constant single note riff are usually agreed on as the toughest. Or maybe this is a dumb idea. I think dividing songs by difficulty will help newbies, but like most fans on this site, you wanna learn them all eventually, cuz fuck, dave is good.
