"The Lonely 1" a Wilco cover

Unread post by AdamCU81 » Mon May 30, 2005 2:40 am

This is one of the most beautiful songs of the moment for me....and I know I didn't do it justice, but here it is anyways.

Any other Wilco fans out there?

Guitar sounds good. Your voice is pretty good. A few flat notes but nothing too significant. I've never heard this song so I can't tell you how accurate your cover is, but it sounds good to me. I can't make my mind up about the reverb, I like it but I say turn it down a little. Good cover.

Thanks man. I always get a bit excited with reverb. If you're using Windows Media Player, make sure the SRS WOW effect is off or the reverb will be overwhelming.

I liked it a lot, it was well done. I thought the reverb was fine but that could be just my media settings. I've never heard it either but I thought your voice fits well. Easy to listen to and quite soothing. No real complaints.

hey you've got a great voice for wilco covers. :D

really nice job. do you have a link to the tab for this anywhere? Wilco is one of my favorite bands, but i dont play much of them on guitar...never tried...

Thanks man. I made up what I was playing there based on a googled tab, but I can't seem to find it on google at the moment. I'll tab out what I played in this recording sometime tomorrow. The absolute best Wilco tab site used to be http://www.altcountrytab.com , but they've disappeared in the past two weeks.

lol this inspired me to learn a lot of wilco...i never really bothered. i spent all yesterday learning a few, but so many of the tabs suck...there are songs like radio cure that are obviously in a different tuning but it took hours to find a tab that wasn't in standard.

a lot of the ones i played were FUN, i didn't expect that. really simple guitar but fun.

Cool stuff!

Chorus is a bit off, you lose the beat at times.

Overall I'd say this is definitely ready to be transfered to my mp3player. It's pleasing to listen too, which is how I define ready.
For all my posts, just add "I think" in the beginning and "in my opinion" in the end. Now shut up!

For us living any other ways was nuts. with all the goodie-goodies working shitty jobs for bum pay checks, took the subway work and worried about their bills were dead. they were suckers, they had no balls. if we wanted something we just took it, and if anybody complained twice they got hit so hard believe me they never complained again

was it this one?

Code: Select all

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
			     The Lonely 1 - Wilco
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Jwrussert

Tuning: EADGBe

e|---------------------------------|
B|----13-12----12-10----10-7---8---|
G|-12-------12-------11------7---9-|
D|-10-------12-------11------5-----|
A|----------14-------9-------------|
E|---------------------------------|

This may not be completely accurate but it sounds good.

Yea, that's the tab I started with and then modified. I'm a bit busy right now, but if you still want, I'll tab out what I played later tonight.
