VH-1 video recorded this for the Storytellers series to air in September, 05. DMB answered about 30 minutes worth of questions from the audience (the capacity was about 300 for the venue).
Meh, could of used some SU songs we haven't heard live yet, but it'll do pig, it'll do.
Thanks for the set list. You've made me feel happy that I'm not worried about seeing this show. What a shitty set list.

Really only 1 song that interests me. Ants sucks with the band. Watchtower gets old. WAYG is one of the worst and most overplayed songs. Too Much is cool with Timmy and the slowed down version, but I normally don't like it.

They should have just called this DMB promoting the new album with some old songs you will recognize.

5 out of 10 isn't bad.

4 of which we've already heard live versions of if you've listened to the Roseland show.

Im sure the others probably wont be played or they are still in the rehearsal stage for those songs. Who knows, who cares. It's more live DMB.

And Mike... You dont like ANTS with the band. I love it :)

I love how everybody is a critic now the new album is out.... Seems like no one is satisfied anymore or somebody is always complaining about a setlist, track listings, etc. Some of you have lost touch with what this band is.

No, not really. I just like what Tim brings to the table. Gives it a new textrure. Ants has been so overplayed(in fact the most played song) that is kind of boring with the band.

I don't know if that was directed at me but I'll answer anyway. I have pretty much held true to my opinion the last 4-5 years. I enjoy D&T more than I do DMB. It doesn't mean I don't like the band, it just means I enjoy things accousitcally more. Plus I think Dave's ability gets drowned out by the band some times. This is just not a DMB thing though. Nirvana Unplugged is my favorite of all their albums.

WAYG and Too Much have alwasy been among my 6-7 songs that I just don't like. Generally, some of the songs that were played on MTV a lot early in their career I still don't like(WWYS, SMTS,etc.) I used to dislike DMB until a friend played Two Step for me. I have only started getting into Too Much D&T recently. Watchtower I have always been kind of luke warm about. I don't dislike it, I just would prefer about 30 other songs. I have already explained my position on Ants.

As far as the new album, I have expressed my opinion a couple of times. I am not a huge fan of it. That's not to say I hate it, it might grow on me. But at this point, I like Everyday better.

I would have no problem with 2-3 songs being off of SU. 5 out of 10 is a little bit too much(no pun intended). That and when you compare the first Storytellers to this one, it is a huge drop off. I guess when I hear a new DMB storytellers I just get excited for it to be as good as the first one.

The Stone (Can't Help Falling In Love)
Crush
Too Much
Davespeak: Cave Crickets
Bartender * -->
Don't Drink the Water (This Land Is Your Land)

Satellite
Two Step
Crash Into Me (Dixie Chicken)
Davespeak: Story about Big Voice Jack
Tripping Billies (Nature)
Davespeak: explained Tripping Billies
So Much To Say
Christmas Song +
Warehouse (Passion)
John the Revelator
Lie In Our Graves
Jimi Thing (What Will Become of Me) -->
Pantala Naga Pampa

Spoon-very rare especially D&T
Ants Marching
Encore:
Say Goodbye
Dancing Nancies

So many great songs on this one. Too bad it didn't get recorded right.

No mike, wasn't directed at you by any means. I was refering to all the people who have been complaining since SU was released. And last time I saw you haven't even purchased the album. Yeah, the album musically is not what we are used to. Accept it. Even though the music has changed the people playing it haven't.

It seems like theres too much hate in gDMB and it's directed at DMB.

I certainly wasn't complaining about the setlist, I'm just curious to hear the rest of the songs from SU done live. Mostly because the songs they haven't done live are the songs I don't like.

you are such a negative nancy
Nah, I just don't eat up every scrap the DMB throws at us, i.e. the new "album". SU has a couple of gems but nothing to go out of my way to listen to.

Dream Girl, American Baby, You Might Die Trying, Louisiana Bayou and Steady As We Go were all played at the Roseland show. They played 7 Stand Up songs at that show, including Hello Again and Hunger For The Great Light along with the above 5.

I really wish they would omit the Stand Up songs from this storyteller except for maybe American Baby. Play some old stuff and explain the meanings to old songs.
