Thanks for sharing and being open-minded about it... You rock

Question posed:

Just curious as to the type of people listen to DMB.

Since this is the General DMB Discussion forum, he posted his thread in the right place.

I can only assume that most DMB listeners are liberal in their life's philosophy. I say that because Dave's lyrics often reflect what liberals hope for.
Thank you as well and for the rest of you all that have decided to take no offense and shared with us your view. That really means alot, even if it doesn't seem too. Personal note, I check out your website, and really like it...

This place can be screwy at sometimes. It is not very welcoming to new people who may think a bit different than the regulars here. That's one problem about this place. I'm sure people will disagree with me on that but I will stand by that.

Anyway, I was born into Catholicism but steered away when I was 14 years old. I have never gone back. I have always claimed myself to be agnostic (even before I knew what religion Dave was into). I once said " I don't want to be so self righteous to claim that there is only one God and we all must agree." Well, may christians came out of the woodwork and blasted me for it. I think the only reason they "tried" to argue with me was becasue I was new. Otherwise, I don't see how you can argue or disagree with one's personal beliefs. That is only of course if we follow the rule of don't impose your beliefs upon one another.

Anyway, bottom line is sometimes I believe in a higher being, most of the time I don't. I guess IM 50% Atheist/50% Agnostic. But, 100% devoted & connected to all living things in this world .

Thanks for the website compliment. It should be updated tonight...

and that is great that you share that with me. I am not trying to influence anyone in this thread to agree with me. I know what I believe and I believe in that... what you and anyone else believes is your own thing... that is a wonderful thing. I only have one rebuttle... and it is very small... if someone ASKED me about my belief, and that means that they are curious about it, not questioning me on it; than I would be more than happy to share with them.. I AM IN NO WAY ASKING ANYONE TO DO THAT. If you truley are instersting in my religion...ask. (this isn't to you directly BTW) I have serveral questions about why people believe what they do, but this is not the place, nor the reason I polled it. THanks again for your willingness to perticipate

Though you didn't ask for an explanation, I figured I'd share so everybody on the boards can see where I'm coming from.

For the first part of the question, I don't like labeling myself a Republican (just like wkpggrvn doesn't like the term 'jam band';)). Somehow it makes me feel like I can't make up my own mind on issues. But since I lean conservative/traditional on most issues anyway, I guess I can just go with an "Independent Republican" 8)

For the second part of the question, I am a Christian man without a doubt. I try to live my life everyday to become more Christ-like and I'm just simply in awe of how much I have been blessed.

I also have to say you (MooreDrums) need to post more. Though I've only read about 15 of your posts, you seem like a pretty quality person. Welcome to the boards.

Thank you very much, I too am a Strong Christian and work towards that same goal. I have been blessed way beyond what I can fathom. The reason I put Rep, and Dem instead of Conservative and Liberal, is I wanted people to define which one they agree with. I am rep, but I vote on the best candidate for the job. I don't agree with the Dem tactics therefore I don't claim to fallow them. The last primaray election, I voted for both Rep and Dem, based on my thought and beliefs of thier ablility to do the job.

This is one of the coolest threads in a while. A ton of disagreements, but everyone explained their opinion well and talked through it.

And I'm not going to move it because I have no idea where this is supposed to go

Thank you very much. I am glad you said that... It is awesome when we dont' just say your wrong, when we are able to talk things out... it really benifits everyone... Makes you see things in a different light.

Awesome... I agree with you in that statement, but I do lean Republican on most issues, therefore I am regisered that way.

I'm a Democratic athiest, and people always assume that means agnostic. It gets annoying, so I can relate with the confusion around that statement.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.
