say goodbye?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Well not really. The slides make it look impressive, but the chords are pretty easy once you get the feel of it.

It has a very unique rythm because of the slides and stuff, but once you get with it, it sounds awesome.

It is tough to REALLY get down. Chord structure is simple, but the muting is what makes the song difficult. Just play around with the chords and keep a steady rythym, try to throw in the mutes as well.

This is one of those songs that most people think they play well, but really they dont even come close to achieving the strumming dave does. The chords are easy, but as Man of the Hour said, its actually a hard song to REALLY get down.

Say Goodbye is one of those songs that you cannot play correctly unless you listen to it frequently and really get the strumming pattern inside your head.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

exactly. there is a good solo version of it out there, find it on Kazaa easily, and you can hear the guitar well. he does that alternate intro on that one, too.
